Name: Valkyrie
Species: Harris's Hawk Parabuteo unicinctus
Life History: Val was transferred to FKWBC in July 2017 from a falconer. While in her mew, she was spooked by a loud noise and sady broke her left leg. Our Volunteer Vet was able to pin it, and the falconer was kind enough to gift her to us as a permanent resident. Now healed, Val has a little bit of a fancy foot where her leg turns out to the side when she perches. She enjoys watching guests from her highest perch and keeping an eye out for wild hawks to talk to.
